Another good news for tourists came from Belgium. A few days ago, a new railway express will start from Brussels, on which it will be possible to get to Paris for only 10 euros! Agree, this is great news for those who are trying to save as much as possible on their travels.
The idea belongs to the railway carrier Thalys, which took care of transporting its passengers at modest tariffs, which are unmatched in all of Europe! Traveling on such a route on a Thalys train will have a number of important nuances.
Undoubtedly the most important detail is the attractive ticket price - only 10 euros. But for such a price, you should not count on an increased level of comfort and additional services. According to the official statement of the carrier, the purchase of a ticket does not at all guarantee a free seat for the passenger. In order for the client to be assigned an uncomfortable folding seat, he needs to pay 5 euros, and in order to be guaranteed to sit on a more comfortable seat, you need to pay at least 9 euros.
But this is far from the only drawback of a cheap travel option. The carrier states that the new trains will not use high-speed rail lines, so thrifty passengers will have to travel 65-70 minutes longer (a regular express travels the distance from Brussels to Paris in an average of 1.5 hours).
Despite the introduction of the Izy low-cost service, passengers will also have the right to buy regular tickets for different types of carriages. Thus, the cost of travel on an express train with increased comfort will cost from 29 to 59 euros per seat. Today, this direction is served by two express trains on weekdays, and on Fridays and Sundays, another one joins them. Recently, the passenger flow has decreased, mainly due to the increase in fares. Therefore, by introducing a low-cost service, Thalys plans to increase the number of customers by at least 10%.
